The women are paid above market rates for all the items they produce, and are paid immediately as we receive their items. All proceeds, after the cost of sales, go back to their village for economic development projects to help the community at large.

In 2012, a water well was put in. In 2013, Project Lydia financed the construction of an artesian spring well, toilet and bathing facilities, and started the rehab of a school. In May 2015, a water well and the first primary school building with four classrooms was finished and is now in use! In July 2015, four more classrooms were finished. Approximately 350 children are now in school, with the major emphasis directed towards girls staying in school. Additional amenities will be added in the future as funds allow.

Recently, in 2015, we have added ninety mothers and grandmothers who are working specifically for the education of their children and grandchildren. By participating in our fundraising program you’re helping these women, their children and their community. Get started on your fundraiser today and contact us if you have any questions!
